Autumn Maxi

I love a maxi dress, and I'm not quite ready to close my summer wardrobe. So the Autumn maxi is the perfect solution. Replace the flip flops with leather boots an add some layers.

Today I wore my summer cotton maxi dress, Topshop boutique, added a black woollen waist coat, Firetrap, a long beige cardigan, and black leather jacket both Allsaints, and some black leather boots, Kurt Geiger

My maxi dress lives on! at least for another month.

Love for Lara

Dutch model Lara Stone is my recent obsession.
Lara made her debut on the cover of vogue in May last year.
She has walked in shows for Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Victoria's Secret, D&G, Balmain . . .  to name just a few.
I love her in the latest Calvin Klein campaign. She appears effortlessly sexy and confident as well as feminine and cool. She's the new Kate Moss and it seems the fashion world can't get enough!
26 year old Lara was recently wed to David Walliams an a wore a custom made Givenchy gown!
As an aspiring fashion photographer she was definitely my muse for a recent shoot with my good friend Jeanna De Waal.
So thank you Lara.

September Shopping List . . .

To celebrate the fabulous Naomi Campbell's 25 years in fashion Dolce & Gabbana have created limited edition T-shirts featuring images of Mrs Campbell. The money raised by the tee's will go to charity so it's a good cause as well as a great buy.
I'll be heading to the store on Sep 21st to get mine!

'to buy or not to buy'

Designer Dilemma

So I have a bit of a dilemma at the moment as I am scrolling through net-a-porters new Autumn coats. My lust for Balmain's shoulder pads and Westwood's capes, temporarily clouds my conscious mind into thinking that I can afford a £1400 coat. When in reality I can not.
I have a beautiful Westwood coat that I bought last winter an absolutely adore, but I continue to scroll an I'm already thinking up ways to justify my next purchase.

Why is it that retail and purchasing gives us such joy?
Why do I arrive at 8-am outside Selfridges on the first day of their sale? (the doors open at 9)
An I how am I going to explain to my husband that I no longer have savings for a house, but another rail of clothes to cram into our small flat?

'I guess I still have savings but they're made of leather an say 'Prada' on the side'

I'm sure I'm not the only woman who buys things she can't afford, maybe that's part of the thrill.

But this dilemma continues ...

Bride to be . . . . .

. . . . . I am shopping for bridesmaids dresses this month and so far its proving to be a difficult job. I have four bridesmaids and they are all different looks, sizes and skin tones. However they are all beautiful, young and glamorous so that kinda makes it a bit easier.
I need to find a dress that will suit them all, and a colour I can co-ordinate with the grooms party and flowers. Oh yes, and the mother of the brides outfit too. Arghhh. You see, not so easy now.

I'm going to head to Coast, Karen Millen, and Selfridges this week to see what I can find.

Due to our busy lives and clashing schedules I will not be able to have all of my bridesmaids present when choosing the dress. However this may not be such a bad thing, as 5 girls in the changing rooms of Karen Millen, all having a say might be too much to handle. I'm seeing a sequal to Bride Wars!
(Although I do plan to photograph myself modelling any potential dresses and I will send a picture via MMS to all the girls. Thank god for iphones.)

The wedding is only 6 months away and so time is of the essence! I think this is why people have wedding planners. :)

Dannii Minogue's X factor Outfit.

Usually the most shocking thing on the X factor is the fact that there are two shamefully talentless twins in the final rounds of a talent competition. However this Sunday at the live results show I was more alarmed by Dannii Minogue's fancy dress costume.

Well what can I say, who is responsible for this hideous mistake! The hair. CRIMPED Ask yourself is it the 90's? Are you 13? if the answers are no then step away from the crimpers! The dress. A 70's inspired print, floaty maxi style. Its November!

There is probably a stylist to blame for this an he/she has to compete with the nations sweet heart Cheryl Cole every Saturday night, but I would like to ask the person responsible what where you thinking?! Poor Dannii. :)

Introducing Eric Daman.

Admit it, we all love Gossip Girl. Its a kind of guilty pleasure, as we know its wrong but its just so good! And now the man responsible for the impeccable outfits and making us want to wear alice bands again, is writing a book. 'You know You Want It' is Eric Daman's realistic guide to style. He is the stylist/costume designer to the hit show, evidence that he knows his stuff. And know we can too! :-)

The Leather Look

We can't get enough of it! Fringed, studded, black, textured, faux, boots, jackets and bags. We love leather. This years autumn catwalk saw every one from Marc Jacobs to Alexander Mcqueen displaying the trend and the high street was to follow. Be careful not to go ott, leather head to toe aka Catwoman is not the look we want. Combine a classic black biker jacket with chunky knitwear this autumn, or try leather look leggings with denim. Check out All Saints, Topshop and A/X Armani Exchange.

No one does the leather look better than Taylor Momsen. (aka Jenny Gossip Girl)

SPOTTED

I'm on the first floor of Topshop's flagship store on Oxford street, wandering through knitwear and I notice all the staff are whispering and pointing, no not at me but behind me. Dressed head to to in black and with a a team of minions following, Naomi Campbell. As if! What is she doing in here on a Friday afternoon, surely she is not feeling the 'crunch' as we've all seen her in the recent D&G campaign. Clearly proof that there is no place on earth like Topshop Oxford street, it's retail heaven and we love it. An if it's good enough for Naomi it's good enough for me! I wonder if she brought anything form Kates range. :-)

Gone GAGA!

In a recent Vogue interview Lady Gaga said her style icons include 'Grace Jones and Jesus - I love loincloths'
This may explain some of her outfit choices!

Thigh Highs?

Thigh High Boots
When worn right THB's can be a fashionistas best friend but worn with the wrong outfit and those same boots could get you arrested. What do you think? Would you dare to wear?

Autumn Issues

Okay so its getting colder but that doesn't mean we can wear nothing but grey, brown and flats!
Get creative with your wardrobe and show your own style, personality and mood. Autumn is a great time to experiment with layers like knee high socks an bright tights. Add a waistcoat or over size shirt and don't hide your fabulous outfit under a winter coat. Accessories are a great way to keep warm and stay stylish, so banish the coats at least until November!
